I have lost my voice. I often become hoarse when I have a cold, but this time is different. I can’t say even one word despite taking strong medication. I whisper, but people can’t hear me. I gave up trying and am keeping completely silent. On my face mask, I wrote, “Sorry, I lost my voice.” It’s funny because people talk to me in a whisper. I am a junior high school teacher, so keeping silent is a big problem. In class, I manage to communicate by typing on the computer and letting my students read the screen. They seem to enjoy this unusual lesson style. They pay attention to the screen and my gestures and try to understand me. However, I feel bad when the students say hi to me at school, and I can’t say anything to them. (140 words)
