I teach English to adults at a community center, and I often hear the same comments. When my students started learning English, they were confident they were improving. Learning longer and knowing more, they started to wonder if they could achieve their English goals. I understand how they feel because I practice dancing. When I started to take lessons, I thought I was doing all right, but now I know I cannot do all the basic steps perfectly. I read in an article that if you sleep well, not only your memories but also the movements you practice will be set during the night. It sometimes happens to me. No matter how hard I practice dancing one day, I cannot do it well. Surprisingly, when I try it the next day, I can do it. This is a useful tip for learners: practice and sleep well. (146 words)
